Is it me… or did anyone else notice these store signs/logos look oddly similar? Ok so the type is one thing, but the COLORS TOO?! What is this world coming to… !

What a busy busy holiday season it has been! It’s been crazy but I am glad January is almost here and we can hibernate for a while. A few weeks ago I received a comment on this blog post – one a I had discussed a book I found at a second hand shop. The owner of the shop had told me it was part of the estate from Murray Stein but the book itself had “Lou Kashins” written on it.

It is for reasons like this that I love the internet! He found my blog because he was searching his uncle’s name. I think that is so awesome that you can discuss a thought and the next thing you know someone has the same thought, googles it, and then you are connected. I am always glad to learn the history behind the second hand items I come across. There is so much more depth to something that had a life before it got to you. Thank you Lee for finding my blog and sharing your story!
I came across a great collection of fonts over at losttype.com I will admit I am having trouble deciding which I want to download…
Today I added a set of model brushes and Roy Lichtenstein brushes for photoshop in the goodies section. They work in CS4 but I can’t confirm higher versions – you can give it a try! Looking to make more brushes and scans soon. The weather here in NY is horrible this weekend… and I’m very disappointed because I was looking forward to this halloween weekend!
My design professor from college posted this on facebook:

I don’t know who designed it, it came from a long chain of facebook sharing. It made me laugh
On my vintage store adventure over the weekend I came across this vintage photo with a beautiful graphic on the back. The image is actually glued to the card. I was told this is early 1900s but no exact date really. I fell in love with the graphic, it’s gorgeous! I will be featuring this in my vintage image scans.. soon.
