iPad Light Painting

Art/ Technology

This video blew me away.. wow! It kind of reminded me of my experience at The Museum of the Moving Image last year. This video is about “light painting” and it is incredible how they have developed this way of creating it using the iPad.

Making Future Magic: iPad light painting from mcgarrybowen uk on Vimeo.

Quoted from their video description:
“This film explores playful uses for the increasingly ubiquitous ‘glowing rectangles’ that inhabit the world. We use photographic and animation techniques that were developed to draw moving 3-dimensional typography and objects with an iPad. In dark environments, we play movies on the surface of the iPad that extrude 3-d light forms as they move through the exposure. Multiple exposures with slightly different movies make up the stop-frame animation.”

paper camera

Technology

Yesterday I downloaded Paper Camera on my droid2 one of my friends suggested I download it. It’s fun and has some really artsy effects for photos – probably the best photo effect app I have tried. Effects like “sketch up” “pastel perfect” and “bleaching”. It was only 10 cents yesterday during Android’s Celebration but even though now it’s back to $2 its definitely worth it…

roy lichtenstein photoshop brushes

Design/ Technology

Today I added a set of model brushes and Roy Lichtenstein brushes for photoshop in the goodies section. They work in CS4 but I can’t confirm higher versions – you can give it a try! Looking to make more brushes and scans soon. The weather here in NY is horrible this weekend… and I’m very disappointed because I was looking forward to this halloween weekend!
